AMD Ryzen 5 5600G & Ryzen 7 5700G - When APUs Rule the Game

If you build a gaming PC with a discrete card, the Ryzen 5000 series CPU will still be more optimal, but the APU's trump card is the extremely powerful integrated iGPU.

For strategy games, 30 fps is good enough, so you can confidently fight at 1080p or increase the effects to make 720p more sparkling.

However, we also need to recognize the fact that the most powerful iGPU, although gradually blurring the line with discrete cards, is still far from 'conventional cards' like the Radeon RX 5500 XT or GTX 1650 Ti. You can confidently max out the settings of 'heavy' MOBA games like Dota 2 at 1080p, but for AAA titles, lowering the resolution to 720p and the lowest settings is necessary to play smoothly.
With a TDP of 65W, the 5700G and 5600G run at a pretty cool temperature. The Wraith Stealth cooler with full-load gaming is below 70 degrees. If you like, you can overclock slightly to improve CPU performance without having to replace the cooler.

What should you pay attention to in the iGPU in the Ryzen 5 5600G and Ryzen 7 5700G?
The power of the iGPU is tied to the system RAM, so you'll need to keep a few things in mind:
- Always run dual channel
- The higher the RAM speed, the stronger the iGPU performance
- You can adjust the amount of RAM for the iGPU in the BIOS, up to 2 GB
For an optimal APU system, we recommend that you run it with at least 2 x 8 GB DDR4, at which point 2 GB for the iGPU is quite comfortable. The 8 GB RAM system will still run fine, but by default the iGPU is only given 512 MB RAM, so performance will be reduced quite a bit. And most importantly, never run single channel, iGPU performance is reduced by half, no joke.
Basically, the higher the RAM speed, the stronger the iGPU performance will be, jumping from 2400 MHz to 3600 MHz can improve up to 20% power. Simply put, this is how you 'overclock' the iGPU of the APU. However, don't get too carried away, high-speed RAM is usually quite expensive. Economically, stop at around 3000 - 3200 MHz, prioritize speed over RGB.
