Because using Google's operating system is not much expensive, but it is effective for customers, the strategy is expected to stimulate demand for this product segment.
At the press conference, Acer introduced new dual-core Aspire One netbooks in Taiwan with four colors of green, blue, red and purple. The target is the young and fashionable customers.
These netbooks will be powered by Intel's Atom 550 processor with the Android operating system.
Acer president Scott Lin said at a press conference that netbooks will not be replaced by tablets and global netbook sales in 2010 will reach 36 million, then increase to 50 million by 2014.
Lin affirmed that Acer is aiming to sell 40 million notebooks in 2010, of which netbooks are 10 million.
Acer believes in achieving this goal and continues to lead the netbook market.
