5 interesting facts about TRAPPIST-1, solar system version 2.0
NASA recently announced the discovery of seven planets orbiting their parent star - a cold dwarf star, Tranppist-1, that could survive life.
Tranppist-1 has more red color and much lower temperature than the Sun. Its size is only slightly larger than Jupiter and about 40 light-years from our Earth.
Here are 5 interesting features about the star system Trappist-1, "Solar System version 2.0".
- "Solar System 2.0" Trappist-1 consists of 7 planets about the size of Earth.
- All 7 planets are around a star, or in a star's remnant, or around a red dwarf.
- At least 6 of these 7 Trappist-1 solar planets are rocky planets.
- 3 of the planets contain water on the surface.
European Extremely Large Telescope - European Extremely Large Telescope - can detect water.
Can scientists find life in at least 1 of the 7 planets in this "Second Solar System"? Please wait for new research by scientists at NASA in the future.
