According to the latest report, Samsung's first triple-folding smartphone may have one big thing in common with the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

In fact, triple-folding smartphones are gradually developing, and Samsung is expected to follow Huawei's example and soon create a replacement for the Mate XT. This "super product" has not appeared yet, but some recent rumors have made quite interesting predictions about them.

Galaxy G Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be very similar

Samsung's first triple-folding phone is expected to be the Galaxy G Fold. According to analyst Ross Young, the outer display of the upcoming "G Fold" will be 6.49 inches.

Notably, Young himself also expects this year's Galaxy Z Fold 7 to come with a 6.49-inch secondary display, which would be an interesting little "jump" compared to the 6.3-inch outer display of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. In other words, the international Galaxy Z Fold 7 will borrow quite a few details from the G Fold.

However, it is considered unwise for Samsung to make the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy G Fold have identical designs, especially if the Galaxy G Fold costs much more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Galaxy G Fold will have a big advantage over Huawei Mate XT

In fact, the G Fold's 6.49-inch outer display will be completely different from the world's first tri-fold smartphone. The Huawei Mate XT essentially uses a single large 10.2-inch display that folds inward and outward, leaving the 6.4-inch display exposed at all times.

Samsung, on the other hand, will use two screens for the Galaxy G Fold instead of just one, with the main screen folding inward twice and thus being protected from external damage when not in use. That should increase both durability and overall functionality (especially if the rumored main screen is around 10 inches in size). On the other hand, using two separate screens could increase the price and weight of the G Fold compared to the Huawei Mate XT.

Obviously, the Galaxy G Fold doesn't have an official release date yet. However, it's likely to launch in the summer, before the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 launch in July.
