USB4 is an architecture based on Thunderbolt's specifications, capable of providing double the data transfer rate, 40Gbps. In addition, the new USB standard also supports multiple protocols for data, monitors and even Type-C USB cables with 40Gbps data access rate.
USB4 with all wired connections, from servers and devices with USB 3.2 and USB 2.0 ports to Thunderbolt 3 currently.
It was not until mid-2019 that the USB Promoter Group released the detailed specifications of USB4. Devices with this connection port will be released next month. The USB4 connector will become popular by 2020.
Brad Saunders, president of USB Promoter Group, said that USB4 optimizes the mix of data and screens over a single connection, doubling performance to further enhance the user experience.
