The initial information on USB4, the next generation USB architecture has recently been introduced by USB Promoter Group at an event in Taipei, China.

USB4 is an architecture based on Thunderbolt's specifications, capable of providing double the data transfer rate, 40Gbps. In addition, the new USB standard also supports multiple protocols for data, monitors and even Type-C USB cables with 40Gbps data access rate.
