Most of those who live in these "coffins" are old, low-income workers.

These 'coffin' houses are just to fit into a single bed, this is both a bedroom, a living room and a working room. All activities of eating, sleeping, and resting of the members take place here.

Although the space is very narrow, these rental houses cost an 'exorbitant' price, about 3,000 yuan / month (equivalent to about 10 million VND).

Low-wage jobs, expensive prices make many people forced to accept living in micro-apartments for decades. Even older people live in iron-lined bunk beds in public houses.
