During the launch of the iPhone 11 duo on 10/10, CEO Tim Cook introduced the iPhone 11 Pro of the company is the smartphone with toughened glass ever. However, the test results of editor Mark Spoonauer from Tom's Guide were not so good.
After buying the yellow iPhone 11 Pro, Mark Spoonauer conducted a product durability test right on the Apple Store.
In the first test, Mark Spoonauer dropped Apple's high-end smartphone from a distance of 1 meter to the ground, to simulate a situation where a user accidentally dropped it when taking the device out of the bag. As a result, the iPhone 11 Pro screen is quite heavy, in the upper left corner appears a large crack, small grooves appear a lot.
Mark Spoonauer said last year's iPhone XS was tested for durability by dropping from 0.9 meters, 1.5 meters and 3.5 meters, but without cracking.
On the second test, Mark Spoonauer continued to drop the iPhone 11 Pro at the same height as the previous one but turned the back. As a result, after three drops of the frosted glass surface of this device remains intact. When increasing the height to shoulder height, the back of the iPhone 11 Pro cracked quite a lot on the upper part, but from the Apple logo and down remains intact.
Simple testing above shows that the durability of iPhone 11 Pro is not really impressive as what CEO Tim Cook introduced. To protect this expensive smartphone, users should equip a back cover good enough.
