Do you remember when your parents used to storm into your bedroom and scornfully tell you that video games were a 'waste of time' or words to that effect? Well, thanks to the boom in the industry's popularity, playing video games professionally has become a legitimately viable career prospect for gamers around the globe.

However, in order to break the upper echelons of a title's competitive scene, playing on the right hardware is an absolute must. With the majority of Esports titles still housed on desktops and laptops, we thought we would take you through some of the best gaming PCs you need to buy in 2023!

Specifications:

  1. CPU: Up to Intel Core i9-12900KF
  2. GPU: Up to RTX 3090
  3. RAM: Up to 128GB DDR5
  4. Storage: 2TB NVMe Gen 4 + 2TB HDD

Through their high-profile partnerships with some of the most successful orgs like Team Liquid, Alienware has become one of the most respected faces for kitting out Esports pros. And the Alienware Aurora R13 stands as the best in the business when it comes to its range of gaming PCs.

The R13 has a unique and striking visual design, with its transparent design revealing the hardware and lighting at work inside. Gaming is evolving at a rapid rate, and the Aurora R13 has been designed with the goal of not being caught flat-footed as new titles are released in the coming years. If you're looking for a PC to plug in and get playing, the R13 is the way to go. It isn't the most accessible when it comes to customising, so if you're someone who loves to finely tune their set-ups, there could be better alternatives to turn to. The small AIO water cooler inside the Aurora R13 is also a small concern to be mindful of, with it putting in the hard yards in keeping the temperatures down.

Specifications:

  1. CPU: Up to Intel Core i9-13900KF
  2. GPU: Up to Nvidia RTX 4090
  3. RAM: Up to 64GB DDR5
  4. Storage: Up to 2x 1TB NVMe Gen 4 SSDs; 2x 3TB HDD

When teams like Titan were dominating the CS:GO betting at Unikrn during Esports' formative years, they were doing whilst being powered by Acer hardware. And in 2023, the company are still continuing to churn out some of the best gaming PCs on the market.

The Predator Orion 7000 was released with the next generation of CPUs and GPUs in mind. Acer refreshed the Orion line with a new motherboard that is able to power 13th Gen Intel Processors with ease. There's no Esport title this PC can't absolutely destroy with its processing power, and you can guarantee it's a machine that will stand the test of time longer than most of its competitors. And whilst you might have to sell an organ or two to afford it, there's no denying this is also one of the most visually striking pre-built gaming PCs in the world right now.

HP Omen 30L

Specifications:

  1. CPU: Up to Intel Core i9 10th-gen
  2. GPU: Up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090
  3. RAM: Up to 64GB
  4. Storage: Up to 2TB SSD + 2TB HDD

If you're a budding pro who's been burned a few too many times building their own PC in the past, the HP Omen 30L could be the piece of kit you've been waiting for. One of the best pre-built gaming mid-range systems, this PC comes with a powerful Omen chassis but still manages to offer ample opportunity for customising and future upgrades. These tweaks are by no means necessary, but they do offer an incentive for those who like to get their hands dirty with their hardware.

The Omen 30L's RTX 2080 GPU is more than comfortable handling 4k and 1440p graphics. It has a liquid-cooled processor that stands at one of the best in the business in keeping temperatures at a good heat. On a personal note, we have to say the design of the Omen 30L is not our favourite in the market. The interior is noticeably messier than some of its competitors, and the white circle on the front overlapping with the edge is enough to trigger anyone's OCD.

Lenovo Legion Tower T5i

Specifications

  1. CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F
  2. GPU: RTX 3060
  3. RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800MHz
  4. Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD

If you're looking to kickstart your Esports career, we understand that finances might be a bit tight. At a little over £1,000 the Lenovo Legion Tower T5i stands as one of the best all-round gaming PCs for those on a budget. Its basic configuration is able to handle 1080p and 1440p gaming with no issue, and the ray tracing enabled on its system is a big tick in the box when it comes to playing FPS titles at a competitive title. We're also big fans of the design of the Tower T5i. Lenovo are renowned for being some of the most stylish in the business, and the T5i's slim design really gives it a character of its own.

The only real compromise you're making with the Legion Tower T5i is in the video card. The T5i has a respectable, if unremarkable, Ampere video card as opposed to the likes of RTX 3070 and RTX 3080, which means 4k resolutions aren't usually possible.
