Redmi Note 9 launched: Helio G85, 4 48MP cameras, fingerprint on the back
Today (April 30), Xiaomi has just launched the Redmi Note 9 series globally, in an event held in Europe. In addition to the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Pro Max that were introduced in India last month, the Chinese manufacturer has also launched a new smartphone in the series, called the Redmi Note 9.
Design
The Redmi Note 9 comes in three color options: Green, White and Blue. The device still applied the perforated screen design, but the "mole" part was moved to the top left corner, instead of being in the middle like its brothers.
Meanwhile, the back of the device is also made of plastic rather than glass like the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. Obviously, this is a slight downgrade as its predecessor Redmi Note 8 has Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back.
In addition, Redmi Note 9 is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the back, instead of integrated on the side. It is placed in a black module located below the cluster of 4 square cameras, while the right side of the camera cluster is an LED flash.
Specifications and features
Redmi Note 9 has a 6.53-inch IPS LCD screen, supports Full HD + resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels), 19.5: 9 aspect ratio. The screen is 450 nit, protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and has low blue light certification from TUV Rheinland.
Inside, the device is powered by MediaTek's Helio G85 processor, paired with 3GB / 4GB RAM and 64GB / 128GB internal memory. If you do not know, Helio G85 is an chipset with 8 CPU cores, Mali-G52 GPU, whose performance lies between Helio G80 and Helio G90T.
Moving to the back, the Redmi Note 9 is equipped with a 4-camera system housed in a square module. The rear camera cluster includes a 48MP f / 1.79 main sensor, an 8MP f / 2.2 super wide-angle sensor with 118-degree viewing angle, a 2MP f / 2.4 depth sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor.
In addition, the phone also has a 13MP camera on the front for selfies and video calling. The phone comes with a 5020mAh battery, supports 18W fast charging via USB-C port.
Redmi Note 9 comes pre-installed with Android 10 operating system with MIUI 11 interface when sold, with a water-resistant nano coating. The device supports 2 SIM with 2 + 1 SIM tray, NFC connectivity, infrared sensor to control electronic devices and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Price and release time
As expected, the Redmi Note 9 will start shipping in Europe in mid-May. The device starts at 199 USD (about 4.7 million VND) for 3GB RAM + 64GB memory version. Meanwhile, the more advanced version with 4GB RAM + 128GB of memory has a retail price of 249 USD .
