Pokémon Quest is a free-to-start action RPG from GAME FREAK featuring cube-shaped versions of Pokémon first discovered in the Kanto region. You build a three-Pokémon team, send it on expeditions across Tumblecube Island, collect ingredients and Power Stones, and improve the team for harder areas.

What you do in Pokémon Quest
During an expedition, your team moves through an area and battles groups of wild Pokémon. Basic attacks happen automatically, while you decide when to use each Pokémon's moves. Timing matters: saving a move for the next group can be better than using it on a nearly defeated opponent.
Completing expeditions earns ingredients, Power Stones, and other progression resources. Power Stones raise stats and can change how a move performs, so compare their effects instead of equipping only the stone with the largest number.
Build a balanced expedition team

A reliable early team combines durability with damage rather than using three fragile attackers. Place the sturdier Pokémon where it can absorb pressure, then use ranged or high-damage teammates behind it. If a stage repeatedly defeats the team, improve the weakest role, train moves, or revisit an earlier area for better stones.
- Match Power Stones to the Pokémon's job.
- Avoid firing every move at once when another wave is approaching.
- Use the Scatter command when the team needs to move away from a dangerous attack.
- Review the recommended strength as a guide, not a guarantee.
Cooking attracts new Pokémon
You do not catch wild Pokémon during an expedition in the usual Poké Ball style. Instead, you cook dishes at base camp to attract new team members. Ingredient color, quality, and combination affect the type of dish and the Pokémon that may visit. TipsMake's Pokémon Quest recipe guide explains the ingredient categories and common recipes.

Is Pokémon Quest free?
The game can be downloaded and started at no charge. Its store listings offer optional purchases, so check the current price and terms in your region. Progress is designed around expeditions and waiting for resources to recharge; purchases are not required to understand the core game.
Where to download it
Pokémon Support states that the game is also available on Nintendo Switch, but Switch and smartphone save data are not compatible and there is no cross-save between them. Choose the platform on which you want to keep your main progress before investing substantial time.
Before you start
Install only from an official store, confirm that the device has enough free space, and allow the initial data setup to finish on a stable connection. If you are moving to a new phone, consult the current in-game transfer instructions before deleting the original installation; do not assume that a Switch save or a second mobile installation will appear automatically.
Players who prefer location-based collection can compare the mechanics in TipsMake's guide to Eevee evolutions in Pokémon GO.
