Oppo Find X is removed from the ranking list because of performance score fraud
According to The Verge, Oppo Find X and Oppo F7 of Oppo were removed from the ranking list of the 3DMark performance scoring page.
Specifically, Oppo has programmed on both smartphones so that they can detect 3DMark application by name and adjust performance accordingly. This means that, when evaluated by 3DMark, Oppo Find X and Oppo F7 will try to achieve the highest score.
Performance Score on Oppo Find X and Oppo F7 decreased by 41% when re-evaluated by the application itself, which has "passed", but was renamed.
UL, the company that created 3DMark software changed the name of a 3DMark version (the same version that Find X and F7 passed) to avoid being detected by the two machines and experimented again. The results showed that their performance score decreased by 41% compared to the previous score.
Oppo admitted about programming to 3DMark recognition machine. The company said it has allowed smartphone processors to operate at the highest speeds when running heavy applications such as games or some performance evaluation software like 3DMark to be able to provide a smooth experience.

But The Verge said that things Oppo shared incorrectly because, only when checked by 3DMark software available on the app store, does Google Find X and F7 operate at high performance. Meanwhile, their performance is significantly reduced with other tests.
Previously, Huawei's P20, P20 Pro, Nova 3 and Honor Play models were also found to have performance point fraud and were removed from the 3DMark ranking list in early September. And to atone for customers, Huawei has allowed users to enable high performance on its smartphones when accessing "Performance Mode".
