Researchers have just created a laser made from blood , to identify tumors in the human body.

Simply put, a laser will be generated by any device that can emit a narrow and focused light, with all the photons concentrated in one direction. In order to produce a laser, three main components are needed: a light source, a way to increase the intensity of light and a reflecting chamber.

There are many materials from solids to gases used to design lasers.

Scientists have studied to find ways to make lasers from living tissue many years ago. And recently, they have found that turning individual cells into active lasers. They put in fat cells in pig skin with fluorescent pigments and fired lasers on them to make them emit light.

In 2011, by injecting DNA codes of green fluorescent colors commonly found in jellyfish, scientists at Harvard University created lasers from human kidney cells .

Even earlier this year, a team of Michigan scientists found a way to turn chlorophyll into plants into lasers.

And most recently, scientists found that the dye called indocyanine green (ICG) in combination with blood proteins causes blood cells to glow. It seems that blood cells can be used as a glowing intermediate layer.

Because ICG travels in blood vessels and tumors will have so many blood vessels, this skill can be used to detect tumors easily. Just inject a little dye into the body, the infrared camera can detect unusual light spots.

Currently, this method still needs other studies in animals, but so far this may be the way to determine if the tumor promises to be effective.
