Runaways Classes Guide: Costs, Loadouts, and Best Choices

Compare all 12 Roblox Runaways classes by cost, starting gear, and stat modifiers, then choose the right unlock for speed, combat, survival, or looting.

Table of Contents

Runaways has 12 classes that change your starting equipment and stat modifiers. Most unlock permanently with Credz, while Smuggler and Ex-Military are premium Robux purchases. For a strong free progression path, start with Basic, choose Scout or Contractor for an early upgrade, and work toward Bounty Hunter for a mobile all-round build.

Class prices and balance can change while the game is in beta. Check the live Classes menu before spending Credz or Robux; the table below records the values associated with the current original list.

The earlier name “Tree” is a translation error; the 18,000-Credz speed class is Scout. Equipment names may also be localized differently by the game.

How to unlock and switch classes

  1. Launch Runaways and wait for the main interface to load.
  2. Select CLASSES from the menu on the left.
  3. Choose a class and read its current price, loadout, and modifiers.
  4. Select the purple purchase button and confirm the transaction.
  5. Return to the Classes menu whenever you want to equip a class you already own.

Credz unlocks are permanent, so there is no random reroll. Robux purchases spend premium currency; verify the selected class and price before confirming.

How to earn Credz

  • Complete quests: prioritize repeatable or high-value objectives that match your normal route.
  • Play regularly: claim any current daily or login rewards from the live interface.
  • Use active codes: redeem only codes announced by the developer or a trusted, recently updated source.
  • Improve loot extraction: a successful run is more valuable than a risky haul you cannot return to the Pawn Shop.

Do not spend all Credz as soon as a class becomes affordable. Keep enough for the weapons, ammunition, medical supplies, or backpack upgrades needed to make its starting kit useful.

Best class for speed: Scout, Smuggler, or Bounty Hunter

Scout

Scout is the accessible early speed choice at 18,000 Credz. Its +10% Run Speed helps with escapes and looting routes, and the Small Backpack is immediately useful. The tradeoff is severe: -20% Health and -5% Melee Strength. Avoid extended fights and use the speed to disengage.

Smuggler

Smuggler starts with +20% Run Speed, a Small Backpack, and a Crowbar, making it efficient for quick property runs. Its -10% Melee Strength discourages brawling. Because it costs Robux, compare the benefit with Credz-based Bounty Hunter before paying.

Bounty Hunter

Bounty Hunter is the best general mobile target in the original balance: +20% Run Speed and +10% Melee Strength without a listed health penalty. A Pistol and Machete provide useful starting coverage. The 160,000-Credz cost makes it a long-term unlock rather than a first purchase.

Best class for beginners: Contractor

Contractor provides a Pistol, Light Bullet Pack, and Mace with +10% Melee Strength and +5% Health. The -5% Run Speed is manageable, and the kit avoids the extreme health or movement penalties of other early options.

At 45,000 Credz, Contractor is a sensible first major target for a player who wants both ranged and melee capability without paying Robux.

Best support class: Medic

Medic starts with Light Armor, two Medic Bags, and a Medic Pack while adding +20% Health. It is strongest in co-op sessions where survival and recovery protect the entire haul. The -5% Run Speed means the squad should not leave the Medic behind during an escape.

Do not sell all starting medical items merely because they have a cash value. Their practical value is the run they prevent from failing.

Best aggressive classes: Breacher and Juggernaut

Breacher

Breacher supplies a Shotgun, C4, a Medium Backpack, and +40% Melee Strength. It is built for forced entry and close-range pressure. At 280,000 Credz, choose it when combat is a planned part of your route rather than an emergency.

Juggernaut

Juggernaut doubles health in the listed balance and starts with a Minigun, Light Armor, a Medium Backpack, and ammunition. The -20% Run Speed is a major drawback: vehicles and coordinated teammates are important, and a failed escape can erase the advantage of the heavy kit.

Is Old CEO good for making money?

Old CEO starts with high-value jewelry that can be sold, including a Diamond and Diamond Ring. It can create an immediate cash route, but -5% Run Speed and -15% Health make ordinary robberies less forgiving.

Choose Old CEO for a deliberate sell-first strategy, not as a general upgrade. If the starting valuables or their sale behavior changes in a patch, the class can lose much of its appeal.

Are the Robux classes worth it?

Smuggler and Ex-Military bypass the Credz grind, but they are not required to play effectively. Ex-Military has an unusually strong starting package—Heavy Armor, Sniper, Large Backpack, and positive speed and melee modifiers—while Smuggler focuses on mobility.

Premium purchases should be judged against how often you play and whether a free class already covers the same role. Bounty Hunter offers strong speed with Credz, Medic covers survivability, and Breacher covers aggressive entry without premium currency.

  1. Basic: learn the map and cash loop without spending.
  2. Scout or Brawler: choose mobility or melee based on your main problem.
  3. Contractor: obtain a balanced starting weapon kit.
  4. Medic: add a reliable co-op support option.
  5. Bounty Hunter: target the strongest general mobility upgrade.
  6. Breacher or Juggernaut: buy a specialized late-game combat class only when its drawback fits your group.

Equip the class for the session's objective. Speed is valuable for solo extraction, Medic helps a team survive, and a heavy combat class is useful only when the route supports its slower movement and ammunition needs.
