How to Play EverWing on Facebook Gaming

EverWing is a vertical scrolling shooter in which a Guardian automatically fires while you steer around enemies and projectiles. It began as a Messenger Instant Game, but gameplay was later moved out of Messenger to Facebook Gaming. The old Messenger conversation link and three-line menu in this article are no longer the correct route.

Availability notice: Meta has announced that Facebook Web Games will close on September 30, 2026. EverWing may stop working on Facebook after that date unless its developer provides another supported version. Do not install an unofficial APK or browser extension that claims to preserve the game.

How to open EverWing

1. Sign in to Facebook in a supported browser or the main Facebook app.
2. Open the EverWing page on Facebook Gaming.
3. Select Play if the game is available for your account and region.
4. Review any permission prompt before continuing. A game should not ask for your Facebook password inside a separate form.

If Facebook reports that the game is unavailable, search for EverWing in Facebook's Gaming area and check the official EverWing page for a service notice. Availability can differ by platform, account, and region.

Basic controls

The Guardian fires automatically. On a computer, move the mouse or pointer left and right to steer. On a touchscreen, drag the Guardian with a finger. Stay near the lower part of the screen so you have time to react, but move upward briefly when collecting an item is safe.

A run ends when the Guardian takes an unprotected hit. The goal is therefore not simply to chase every coin: survival preserves the score and gives you more chances to collect valuable rewards later in the run.

What to collect

• Coins pay for upgrades and other in-game progression.
• Gems are more valuable pickups; collect them only when the path is safe.
• Power-ups can improve firepower, movement, or protection for the current run.
• Dragon eggs can hatch into Sidekicks that accompany the Guardian.

Items disappear quickly, but diving through a dense group of enemies for one pickup often costs more than the item is worth.

Beginner strategy

Watch gaps, not individual enemies

Look ahead for open lanes through the entire wave. Small, early movements are safer than sweeping from one edge of the screen to the other after a projectile is already close.

Upgrade reliable damage first

Stronger damage shortens dangerous waves and boss fights. Compare the cost of a Guardian or Sidekick upgrade with the improvement it provides instead of spending coins across every option equally.

Use Sidekicks that complement the Guardian

Sidekicks add damage and may provide useful effects. Level a practical pair before investing heavily in every dragon. When evolution or fusion is available, read the confirmation screen carefully so you do not consume a dragon you intended to keep.

Prioritize survival during boss fights

Bosses have larger health pools and more complex attack patterns. Focus on the safe route through projectiles; automatic fire will continue dealing damage. Move for coins only after the current pattern leaves a clear opening.

Compare scores without spamming invitations

Facebook leaderboards and social features may show friends' results, but invitations are optional. Avoid sending repeated game messages to people who have not asked to play.

Troubleshooting

• Reload the Facebook Gaming page and sign in again.
• Try an up-to-date browser with tracking protection or content blockers temporarily disabled for Facebook only.
• Clear Facebook site data if the loading screen is stuck, understanding that this signs you out.
• Check whether the game is available on another supported device.
• Do not repeatedly reinstall Messenger; EverWing is no longer launched through the old Messenger game menu.

If the game is inaccessible after September 30, 2026, wait for an announcement from the official developer. A copy hosted on an unrelated site may not preserve account progress and could be unsafe.
