Instructions on how to delete iTunes and completely uninstall it from your computer.
To completely remove iTunes from your computer, follow these steps:
Step 1: In the search bar on your computer, type " Control Panel " -> then click on "Control Panel" to open it.
Step 2: Next, click on the Programs and Features section .
Step 3: Here, you will remove or delete items related to iTunes as follows:
- Apple Software Update
- Bonjour
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- Apple Application Support.
Click on each item above -> then select Uninstall to proceed with removing iTunes from your computer.
Step 4: After you have removed the 4 items as described above, access the folder below to delete the iTunes folder on your computer.
- Access the folder: C:UsersusernameMusic
Step 5: On the same C drive as above, access the following folder path:
- Access the folder: C:UserUsernameAppDataLocal
Next, you should also delete the two folders: Apple and Apple Computer .
Step 6: Next, access the following link to delete Apple Computer.
- Access the following path: C:UserUsernameAppDataRoaming
Step 7: Still on drive C, find the following folder:
- Access the folder: C:Program FilesCommon Files
Next, you will delete the Apple folder .
Step 8: This step is quite important to delete all folders and files related to iTunes software, and you will perform the operations in Registry Editor .
Press the Windows + R key combination to open Run . Then, type " regedit " in the Open box and press OK .
Step 9: In the Registry Editor interface, find the folder using the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE
Here, you can delete Apple Inc. and Apple Computer, Inc. as shown in the image below:
Note: If your computer uses 64-bit Windows, scroll down -> find the Wow6432Node folder to delete the two keys Apple Inc. and Apple Computer, Inc. as described above.
Step 10: Next, still in the Registry Editor interface , navigate to the following folder:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software
Next, delete the two keys Apple Inc. and Apple Computer, Inc. located in that folder.
Step 11: Continue to the folder using the following path:
HKEY_USERS S-1-5-18 Software
To remove the Apple Inc. lock , click here.
Still at HKEY_USER , you will access S-1-5-21-4195518859-1453404549-3318302731-1001Software and delete the Apple Inc. and Apple Computer, Inc. folders.
Continuing in HKEY_USERS S-1-5-21-4195518859-1453404549-3318302731-1004 Software , you will delete the Apple Inc. key that is currently there.
Step 12: Finally, restart your computer and check again. You will see that iTunes is no longer on your computer, including the files, and it's not in the Registry either -> meaning iTunes has been completely uninstalled and removed from your computer.
After deleting iTunes and completely uninstalling it from your computer following the steps above, if you previously reinstalled iTunes and encountered errors, you can now safely reinstall it without fear of experiencing the same problems again.
