The shortcut to open the Pick Tool is the Spacebar (if you are typing, use the shortcut Ctrl + Spacebar to open the Pick Tool).

1.1 Using the Pick Tool to select objects

In CorelDraw, we must select an object before applying any changes. We can select a single object, a group of objects, or all objects on the page.

- Select an object:

Click anywhere on the object that has already been filled with color to select it. If the object has not yet been filled with color, click on Outline to select and fill it with color.

A series of handles will appear around the object, indicating that the object has been selected. Click anywhere outside the object to deselect it. Double-click the object to activate the rotate tool.

- Select objects that do not fill color:

To select an object that shouldn't be filled with color, first click on Outline, then click anywhere within the object, select Layout => Page Layout => Workspace => Toolbox => Pick Tool. In the Pick Tool section , find and check the option Treat All Objects .

- Select multiple objects:

Select the Pick Tool, then click and drag across multiple different objects. All objects will be within the selected area. Release the mouse button, and handles will appear on the screen indicating the selected objects.

You can check the status bar to confirm the number of selected objects.

- Select multiple objects using the SHIFT key.

By selecting the Pick Tool, then clicking on an object to select it. Press and hold the Shift key to select a second object, and similarly for other objects. This is a useful solution for selecting multiple different objects in different locations on the page.
