Viettel is licensed to test 5G network in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City
Viettel is the first network operator in Vietnam licensed by the Ministry of Information and Communications to test 5G network in two cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Accordingly, the scale of service testing will not exceed 73 positions. Viettel will not be charged by the test participants during the 5G testing process.
5G trial license of Viettel is valid until January 21, 2020. After 1 year, Viettel will have to return the licensed telecommunications resources. Ho Chi Minh City will be the first city to be offered 5G service testing.

In November 2018, at the Vietnam Innovation and Innovation Conference, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that 5G technology is an opportunity for Vietnam to change rankings. To do that, Vietnam will be one of the first 5G deployments in the world by 2020.
