Domain Age Checker

Enter a domain to estimate how long it has been registered from the creation date available in registration data.

Results will appear here after the check runs.

The estimate depends on WHOIS or RDAP data and does not establish website age, ownership duration, or search authority.

Task-specific workflow

How to Use Domain Age Checker

  1. Enter the registered domain, such as example.com, without a URL path.
  2. Run the check and locate the reported creation date and calculated age.
  3. Confirm important dates with the registrar or registry because privacy services and data availability vary.

What Domain Age Means

Domain age is normally calculated from the earliest registration creation date returned by WHOIS or RDAP. It does not show how long the current website, owner, or content has existed, and a previously dropped domain can have a newer creation date.

Treat the result as registration history, not an SEO score or a trust guarantee. An older domain can change ownership or purpose, while a new domain can operate a legitimate site. Missing data means the registry did not expose a usable date to this lookup.

Worked scenario

Domain Age Checker Example

If registration data reports a creation date of January 15, 2020, the tool calculates elapsed years and months from that date. It does not infer when the first page was published.

Frequently Asked Questions About Domain Age Checker

Is domain age a direct Google ranking factor?

This tool does not determine rankings, and an old registration date by itself does not prove quality, authority, or relevance.

Why is no creation date available?

Some registries return limited fields, rate-limit lookups, or use formats that do not expose a reliable creation date.

Does domain age show when the current owner acquired the name?

Not necessarily. The creation date can predate the current owner, and ownership transfer dates are often not public.
