What are Roku Subscriptions?
The brand-new Roku system update, Roku OS 15.1, has added a new feature to the left-hand menu. The new Subscriptions option immediately stands out, but as usual, Roku doesn't really announce updates much. You'll have to discover and find out what's changed yourself.
While Roku's layout has always been a favorite for accessing streaming apps, many people have also used Google TV and appreciate the ease with which they can return to recently watched content without having to switch between apps.
Now, Roku Subscriptions do just that without cluttering the home screen like Google TV does. Users get the best of both worlds.
All your subscription services are listed in this section. You don't need to subscribe to services through Roku for them to appear, although those subscription packages do show up there. For example, someone might only have one premium subscription package directly through Roku. That package and all others will appear together on the same Subscriptions screen.
It's important to emphasize that this is completely different from viewing premium content from subscription packages within the Roku app itself.

View the latest releases from all streaming apps.
Typically, to see the latest releases from subscribed streaming apps, you have to open each app individually and scroll down to see what's new.
Now, simply open Roku Subscriptions from the Roku home screen. Find the " Newly Added to Your Subscriptions" section . Here, all the latest releases are listed. At the time of writing, there are 35 shows/movies listed. As you scroll down, it will show exactly which app has that show. It's that easy! If you have many streaming apps, this feature will save you a lot of time.

By default, your Roku device will automatically check for updates daily. If your device hasn't been updated for any reason and you don't see the Subscriptions option in the left-hand Roku menu, go to Settings → System → Software Update . Check for updates and allow your system to update to the latest version.
Although Roku Subscriptions gives you direct access to premium services, you can still use app icons from the home screen if you know exactly what you want to see. If those icons disappear, here's how to fix it.
