Mortal Kombat 12 will be released in 2023

Details about the latest version in the Mortal Kombat series have not been revealed. But according to Warner Bros Discovery executive vice president Andrew Slabin, there will be "ambitious changes" coming to Mortal Kombat 12, with the main aim of giving players a more optimal experience in every respect. NetherRealm Studios, the main developer of the Mortal Kombat series, also said at a recent event that they want to create a completely new version after the undeniable success of the 11th installment. Expanding the storyline of the characters will be the plan that NetherRealm Studios considers.

Mortal Kombat 11 officially launches in Spring 2019. Thereafter, some paid and free DLC content continues to roll out through the end of 2020. The game has sold over 15 million copies as of mid-day. 2022 and is a successful project of Warner Bros Discovery as well as NetherRealm Studios.

Similar to previous versions, Mortal Kombat 12 will retain the familiar fighting mechanism. However, according to rumors from reputable sources, there will be a new online mode called 'One to 100'. In which one player confronts 100 players on King of the Hill with special effects that will aid in passing the stage more easily.
