The European Space Agency (ESA) has shared an ultra-high-resolution version of the photo that you can zoom in to see details of the stunning gas and dust cloud, which is a collection of countless star formation region where new stars are born.

Also known as Messier 42, the Orion Nebula is located just south of the belt of the constellation Orion, discovered by French astronomer Nicolas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc in 1610. Orion is a one of the brightest nebulae in the sky, visible to the naked eye at apparent magnitude 4. This characteristic makes it a favorite target for scientists studying star formation.
When new stars are born, young and very hot, they emit ultraviolet radiation that illuminates the clouds of dust and gas around them. At the center of this nebula is a group of stars called the Trapezium Cluster, which is young and bright, some of which have a mass 30 times that of our sun.
