How does the Disk SMART Health Analyzer work?
SMART data exposes counters and status fields reported by a storage device. This utility recognizes common ATA and NVMe indicators and presents them in a compact, cautious summary.
It is intended to help decide whether backup and manufacturer diagnostics should be prioritized, not to certify a drive as safe.
Sector indicators
Checks recognized reallocated, pending, and uncorrectable sector fields.
NVMe wear
Surfaces percentage used and media/data integrity errors when present.
Temperature context
Shows a recognized current temperature and conservative warnings.
Best practices before using the result
- Back up important data before extended tests when a drive is clicking, disappearing, extremely slow, or reporting errors.
- Use the drive manufacturer diagnostic and review the complete SMART log, not only one attribute.
- Avoid writing large amounts of data to a drive suspected of failing until backups are complete.
The analyzer reports only evidence found in the supplied content. “Not detected” does not prove a setting, component, or problem is absent.

Does PASSED mean the drive cannot fail?
No. SMART has limited predictive coverage and a drive can fail without an earlier failed status.
Are reallocated sectors always fatal?
Not always, but growth or related pending and uncorrectable counts should increase backup and diagnostic priority.
What does NVMe percentage used mean?
It is a vendor-reported endurance-consumption estimate; 100 percent does not necessarily mean instant failure, but it indicates the rated endurance has been consumed.
