There are many types of plants that can add beauty and color to your home, whether it's your garden or your kitchen windowsill. But when you're looking for the perfect plant for your space, remember that some plants can be extremely harmful to humans and animals.
1. Ship hatch
First on the list of deadly flowers is the Anemone var. aurantium, also known as the Anemone var. aurantium. This flower may belong to the buttercup family, but there's nothing sweet or pleasant about it (except for its beauty). A few drops of juice from the roots of this deadly flower can cause heart failure and paralysis of the heart muscle. It can also cause numbness and tingling.
2. Oleander

3. Lily of the valley
Lily of the valley has a wonderful fragrance, but accidentally ingesting it can lead to the worst possible outcome. Lily of the valley is a 'Level 1' deadly flower on the toxicity scale. Furthermore, it contains cardiac glycosides, a group of substances that inhibit the enzyme Na+ K+ ATPase. This increases the heart's contractile force, producing an effect similar to that of digitalis.
4. Dalat lilies
This flower, also known as the angel's trumpet or devil's breath, originates from Colombia. While its flowers are strikingly beautiful—white, yellow, or red—all parts of the plant contain incredibly potent toxins.
If someone smells the flower, they will fall into an unconscious state, speak incoherently, and lose control of their behavior. Extracts from this flower are used to make hallucinogenic drugs. This flower is widely grown in Da Lat, so it is also known as the Da Lat lily.
5. Azalea
All parts of the rhododendron plant are poisonous to humans and animals. Despite their beautiful appearance, rhododendrons are deadly flowers containing the toxin Grayanotoxin. Consuming small amounts may not lead to serious illness, but consuming large quantities can be life-threatening.
6. Snakehead Flower
You may have heard of this snakehead flower. As the title suggests, this plant is as poisonous as a venomous snake. Like lily of the valley, the snakehead flower is a Class 1 poisonous plant that you should be extremely careful with.
7. Datura flower
This perennial herbaceous plant, belonging to the Solanaceae family, is as dangerous as its reputation suggests. You may have read crime novels or watched CSI television shows involving belladonna poisoning. According to the USDA, belladonna means 'beautiful woman' in Italian, but it is still a highly poisonous flower!
8. Yellow Jasmine
Yellow jasmine (Carolina jessamine) is a popular garden plant loved for its abundance of yellow flowers in the summer. However, it is also one of the most dangerous flowers. It contains neurotoxic alkaloids that affect nerve endings and can cause paralysis, muscle weakness, and convulsions in all mammals (both animals and humans). Additionally, the entire plant is poisonous, but be especially careful with the flowers and roots.
9. The hemlock flower is poisonous.
Hemlock (Conium maculatum) is one of the most poisonous and dangerous plants in the world. However, you should know the difference between hemlock and wild carrot (Daucus carota). Hemlock grows throughout the United States. It is toxic to pets, livestock, and humans.
10. Swan Flower with Jewel Eyes
Every part of the Swan-Eyed Ornithogalum plant (belonging to the Lily family) is poisonous. Be sure to stay away from its bulbs and roots as they are the most dangerous and toxic. This deadly flower – which blooms in late spring or early summer – contains cardiac glycosides with life-threatening side effects.
11. Castor oil plant
Nausea, bloody diarrhea, low blood pressure, and severe abdominal pain are some of the symptoms of ricin poisoning, which, in sufficiently high doses, can be fatal. Additionally, according to the 2007 Guinness World Records, the castor oil plant is the most poisonous plant in the world.
12. Ivy
This beautiful houseplant cleans the air and makes a great decorative item, but remember that it is toxic to pets and children.
13. Monkey-faced Orchid (Dracunculus Vulgaris)
When it blooms, its flowers smell like rotting flesh. The flower resembles the face of a monkey, hence its name.
14. Titan Arum Flower
Also known as the corpse flower because it smells like rotting flesh.

This flower looks beautiful, but it can cause skin irritation, vomiting, and nausea.
16. Blood Heart Flower
A beautiful plant with heart-shaped flowers that look like they're dripping blood. All parts of the plant are poisonous.

It looks beautiful, but eating it can lead to organ failure.

Just smelling it can lead to diarrhea, vomiting, or hallucinations.
20. Italian Orchid
One of the most popular air-purifying houseplants – just make sure it stays out of reach of children and pets.
21. Irises (all varieties)
One of the poisonous flowers, while beautiful, can cause vomiting, fever, or diarrhea in humans and pets. Furthermore, in classic novels, ladies have used this deadly flower to commit suicide.
22. Death Camas
This beautiful perennial plant is found throughout the western United States, but don't let its beauty fool you — every part of this plant is extremely poisonous to both humans and animals. If ingested, it can lead to symptoms such as vomiting, stomach pain, tremors, and weakness.
23. Cotoneaster
While birds are often drawn to the vibrant berries of the Cotoneaster plant, this plant can be extremely poisonous to humans and animals (including cats and dogs!). It is native to Europe and certain parts of Asia.
