How to measure bra size at home

Wearing the wrong bra size can significantly affect a woman's health as well as her figure. Here is a simple guide on how to measure bra size at home .

Things you need to know

1. Measure your bra size by wrapping a tape measure around your ribs. Determine your bust size by measuring your upper body and subtracting the strap measurement.
2. Note that different bust sizes always have the best bra styles. For example, wear underwire bras and push-ups if you have small breasts or underwire bras if you have teardrop-shaped breasts.
3. Wear a body-hugging t-shirt to check out the best bra style and make sure it really flatters your figure.

Calculate the size

Place the tape measure just below the breast. Make sure the ruler is horizontal and fits snugly against the body. Look at the end of the tape measure, and then check the resulting measurement. Record the results.

 

1. If the results are odd, try bras that are 1 inch smaller and 1 inch larger than your measurements. For example, if you measure 31 inches (78.7 cm), the strap length could be 30 or 32.
2. If the result is an even number, choose the correct bra according to your measurements.

Check strap size . Thread 1-2 fingers around the inside of the strap. The ideal bra will fit at the maximum adjustment (i.e. the loosest hook) but will be too tight if you have it on the smallest size (the tightest hook). Bras are designed to fit like this so you can tighten the straps when the elastic starts to wear out. If the new bra strap is wide enough for you to comfortably tie it at the tightest setting, try a smaller style.

Check the cup size of the bra . If you choose the right cup, your breasts will lie completely inside, without wrinkles or lines on your body. If there is any excess, it is a sign that the bra size is too small.

Finally, wear a plain, well-fitting T-shirt to observe your current figure. Make sure your bra doesn't show the hem on your clothes. Stand in front of a mirror and turn to the side, making sure your chest is between your elbows and shoulders. It has a full round shape and is not abnormally skewed or concave in any part.
